7-8 Days Lemosho Route Itinerary – Mount Kilimanjaro

The Lemosho Route is widely regarded as one of the most scenic and successful routes on Mount Kilimanjaro. It offers excellent acclimatization, diverse landscapes, and a high summit success rate, making it ideal for both experienced trekkers and determined first-time climbers.

Day 1: Lemosho Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp

  • Altitude: 2,100m → 2,650m

  • Hiking Time: 3–4 hours

Your journey begins at Lemosho Gate, located on the western side of the mountain. After registration, you will start trekking through a lush rainforest filled with towering trees, unique plant species, and occasional wildlife such as monkeys and exotic birds. The trail is gentle, allowing your body to begin adjusting to the altitude gradually.

Overnight: Mti Mkubwa Camp

Day 2: Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp

  • Altitude: 2,650m → 3,500m

  • Hiking Time: 5–6 hours
