Day 01 :

Marangu Gate – Mandara Hut

Your Kilimanjaro adventure begins with a transfer from Moshi to Marangu Gate, located on the southeastern side of Mount Kilimanjaro.

After completing registration and park entry procedures, you will meet your mountain crew and begin your trek through the lush rainforest.

The trail gradually climbs beneath tall trees and dense vegetation. Along the way, you may encounter different species of birds and other wildlife while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the forest.

After several hours of trekking, you will arrive at Mandara Hut, the first mountain accommodation on the route.

After settling in, you can relax and enjoy the surrounding forest environment. Your guide will provide information about the following day's trek.

Day 02 :

Mandara Hut – Horombo Hut

After breakfast, you leave Mandara Hut and continue toward the higher slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro.

As you continue climbing, you will begin to see the dramatic peaks of Kibo and Mawenzi.

After breakfast, you begin an acclimatization hike toward the Mawenzi Ridge area.

The trail takes you through increasingly rugged high-altitude terrain while providing spectacular views of Mawenzi Peak and the surrounding Kilimanjaro landscape.

You will spend several hours hiking at a higher elevation before returning to Horombo Hut for the night.

The extra time spent at altitude is an important part of the itinerary and can help you prepare for the higher elevations ahead.

After returning to camp, you will have time to relax, enjoy your meals, and prepare for the next stage of the climb.

Day 04 :

Horombo Hut – Kibo Hut

After breakfast, you leave Horombo Hut and continue toward Kibo Hut, the final accommodation point before the summit attempt.

Today's trail crosses the famous Saddle, a wide high-altitude area situated between the peaks of Kibo and Mawenzi.

The landscape becomes increasingly dry and barren as you enter the alpine desert zone. Vegetation becomes sparse, and the massive Kibo summit dominates the landscape ahead.

The altitude becomes more noticeable, so your guide will maintain a slow and steady pace.

Upon reaching Kibo Hut, you will have time to rest and prepare for the summit attempt.

Your guide will provide a detailed summit briefing and explain the following day's schedule.

An early dinner and rest are recommended because the summit climb begins during the night.

Day 05 :

Kibo Hut – Gilman's Point – Uhuru Peak – Horombo Hut

Today is the summit day and the most challenging part of your Kilimanjaro adventure.

You will begin the climb during the early hours of the morning, trekking slowly through the darkness toward the crater rim.

The trail becomes steeper as you ascend through the high-altitude volcanic terrain. Your guide will maintain a slow pace to help you conserve energy while monitoring your condition.

You will first aim for Gilman's Point, located on the crater rim at approximately 5,681 meters.

After reaching the crater rim, you continue along the summit area toward Stella Point and then onward to Uhuru Peak.

At 5,895 meters (19,341 feet), Uhuru Peak is the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro and the highest point in Africa.

After celebrating your achievement and taking photographs, you begin the descent toward Kibo Hut before continuing down to Horombo Hut.

The descent to a lower elevation provides welcome relief after the demanding summit climb.

Day 06 :

Horombo Hut – Marangu Gate – Moshi

After breakfast, you begin the final descent from Horombo Hut toward Marangu Gate.

The trail takes you through the beautiful moorland before gradually returning to the lush rainforest.

As you lose altitude, the vegetation becomes denser and the air becomes warmer.

After several hours of trekking, you will arrive at Marangu Gate, where you will complete the final park procedures and receive your summit certificate where applicable.

You will then say goodbye to your mountain crew before your vehicle transfers you back to Moshi.
